Focusing on the goal

We are a Christian based organization working in Kwanjana, T/A Bvumbwe in Thyolo District. Our main aim is to support the vulnerable groups and the community through various strategies to ensure that in the near future people are self-dependent in terms of food security, entrepreneurship with good infrastructure and healthy and education. We believe that step by step we can, as we take on board the church, school and the community itself. So far we have several beneficiaries in Kwanjana which include sponsored children, child headed families, and many poor families.

However, most of our programs were negatively affected since early last year to the present time due to COVID-19. We went on lockdown for over 6 months, but we thank God, we were able to serve the community through relief aid programs and some little items. Gatherings were stopped hence we closed school in compliance to the order by the head of state. Children in Kwanjana and many areas forgot school, dropout rate increased most particularly among the girls.

We thank God that most of our reception class did very well and were taken into the government primary school because of our dedicated staff. Through the love of Christ, children are taught Christian values and encouraged to work hard. Last year harvest were not really bad, however, we encouraged people around not to sell their food so that there is no lack of food in their homes. We also thank the effort of our sponsors in the Netherlands in all forms. It is encouraging to see that our support is of great value to other lives in Malawi. We also applaud the good work of the Action Committee, who links us to the targeted groups.

As we move step by step towards a sustainable development community, which is self-reliant, God is taking us through towards achieving our goal. Last term we did not close due to COVID-19. At least things are coming back to normal and the new cases have really declined. We thank God for that and hope that, step by step, we can continue striving towards the goal, with His help.
