Getting to know the sponsors
10 June 2020
Dear newsletter- and blog readers,
We were asked to tell something about our involvement as sponsors in the For a Change foundation. A short introduction: we are Johnny and Corine Koster, we live in Krabbendijke (The Netherlands), together with our four children: three boys and a girl, aged between 4 and 12. Johnny works as a carpenter with the Schrijver Company and Corine works as a nurce in the Hof Cruninghe, which is a home for elderly people with dementia.
How did we get involved with the For a Change foundation? This started already at the very beginning. Jurian, our oldest son, was in grade 2 of the Julianaschool, with Marianne as his teacher. In this way, we got to know Marianne and of course also her boyfriend Constantine. Later on, we also met Felix and Annemarie. In grade 3, Marianne was Jurian's teacher again and the year was ended with the marriage of Constantine and Marianne. It was very special for all the children!
Because of the different actions and activities we got to know the foundation even better and we got involved more and more. Corine volunteered with a clothing fair, of which the profit was partly for the For a Change foundation
On a given moment, the desire to do more for our fellow people in Malawi, became larger. Every time we read a newsletter, we had a feeling we had to do something. It is so clear that the money you donate, is used to defeat poverty step by step. The pictures from the newsletter say more than a thousand words. They tell their own story!
In one of the newsletters, there was a call for new sponsors. From that moment, we had a sponsor daughter and sister. A couple of months later, we also got to know our sponsor son and brother. It is so special to be able to help them this way. We, as wealthy Dutch people, can learn so much from people who have less than us, but are more content than we usually are!
Our Lord Jesus tells us: "Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me."
From that point of view, we wish Constantine and Marianne, and Felix and Annemarie and their families and all the people who are involved with the foundation, the blessings of our Lord on this beautiful, yet hard, and important work!
