Growing His Kingdom

"Growing His kingdom in the little ones  heart",  this is the statement  that comes in my mind every morning  as a pre-school teacher. In the nurturing embrace of a nursery school, children are not just taught ABCs and 123s; they are also introduced to values that shape their character and worldview. At For a Change,  we believe in fostering holistic growth, especially for children coming from vulnerable homes. One of the key pillars of our approach is imparting the teachings of God's word. I would like to share how this has contributed to the positive upbringing  of the kids in Kwanjana. 

Teaching spirituality to young minds has a great impact  and  it lays the foundation for a future filled with hope and resilience. I, being a teacher at Foundation For a Change, it has not just been a work place for me and a learning  place for the kids,  it is a home where we stick to God’s Words in each and everyday life.  Every morning  before  starting  our daily lessons,  we do have a morning  devotion with the learners  as we share a Bible story and after that we do have a memory  verse, based on the themes. 

The impact of teaching God's Word extends far beyond the confines of the classroom. As children internalize these teachings, they become agents of positive change in their families and communities . Most of the parents are able to explain on how their kids are behaving and praying at home every time they are about to eat and sleep. They share their newfound values with siblings, parents, and neighbors, creating ripples of kindness and compassion that spread far and wide. In this way, the seeds of hope sown in the nursery school bear fruit in the lives of countless others. 

At For a Change , we believe that education is not just about imparting knowledge,  it's about nurturing the whole child – mind, body, and spirit. By teaching God's Word to children, most of them from broken homes, we offer them more than just academic instruction.  We provide them with a foundation of faith, values, and hope that will sustain them throughout their lives. Together, we strive to create a brighter future filled with love, compassion, and endless possibilities.
